Angel Aleksov for Indi

Angel is a passionate advocate for all people and animals who face suffering and injustice. Working as a lawyer and now a barrister for the past eight years, much of Angel’s work is on behalf of animal rights activists and environmental activists who have been punished by the law for standing up against injustice. Having immigrated to Australia at the age of six, Angel is particularly passionate about advocating for asylum seekers and supporting refugees and asylum seekers to assimilate and flourish in our wonderful country.

Angel believes that all sentient beings deserve respect, and knows that animals are too often let down by the systems that are meant to offer them protection. When elected, Angel will push for an end to the cruelty of factory farming, and the improvement of all animal agriculture standards to better protect vulnerable animals. He also wants to see an improvement to the regulation of consumer information on animal products - Angel believes that people should be given accurate information about the products they are purchasing.

Aware that this planet is our only one, Angel knows that we must protect our natural environment. He is currently working on an injunction to prevent logging by the government in Tasmania, and campaigns fiercely to protect our natural environment against the human-induced climate emergency.

Angel guides himself by the Animal Justice Party’s four core values: Kindness, Equality, Rationality and Non-Violence. He also believes that it is important to be fair and generous - because life’s too short not to.

Donate to get Angel elected! 

Contesting elections is a costly exercise - it's a $2000 fee per candidate to get on the ballot paper and then there are advertising and printing costs! We estimate it will cost us a minimum of $5k to cover candidate fees, advertising and printing for Angel's campaign. We'd love to double or triple that to give him the best chance of being elected to represent AJP in the House of Representatives.
