Elisha Atchison for Polwarth

Elisha spent her younger years with family in Gariwerd (the Grampians). She has a strong love of the natural environment which led Elisha to study Environmental Science, and then called her to work for local Councils for ten years in the management and delivery of waste services. This helped Elisha to develop an understanding of the need for local recycling markets and resource recovery alternatives.

Elisha grew up with kangaroos on her doorstep and developed a deep connection with animals. She is extremely passionate about animal and wildlife protection and uses her spare time to volunteer for various animal organisations and rescues.

In her commitment to creating a kinder world for animals, Elisha will work to improve habitat protection in the area as well as secure sufficient funding for wildlife shelters that provide essential care to victims of road accidents and natural disasters.

Too often, companion animals miss out on the veterinary care they need due to financial constraints. To help alleviate the strain on families and vets, Elisha welcomes the Animal Justice Party's plan for Veticare to establish a universal healthcare system for animals.

Elisha is also proud of the Party's strong position on climate action, and supports investment in clean energy solutions and sustainable farming.
