Stand Up for Animals in the 2026 Victorian Election
We’re now accepting candidate applications for the 2026 Victorian State Election. So, if you’ve ever wanted to turn your passion for animal protection into political action, this is your moment.
Since entering Parliament in 2018, the Animal Justice Party has proven that when we have a seat at the table, we can drive real, lasting change. In 2022, Georgie Purcell was elected to the Upper House. In 2026, we’re aiming higher – to re-elect Georgie and bring more animal advocates with her.
By running as a candidate, you can:
-
Speak up for animals, people and planet in your community
-
Put animal protection on the political agenda
-
Help us win crucial votes to end cruelty
-
Hold the major parties to account
-
Build the political movement for animals
You won’t be doing it alone. Our candidates are supported with training, mentoring, campaigning resources, and connection to a community of like-minded advocates. You’ll build new skills in leadership, media, public speaking and community engagement. And you’ll be part of something bigger than any one election: a growing political force for kindness and justice.
Whether you want to run in the Lower House or as a lead Upper House candidate, this is your chance to create a better world for all beings.
🗓 Applications close 31 July 2025
