Shohre Mansouri is a software engineer with more than 25 years of professional experience, holding a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering. She migrated to Australia 20 years ago and has proudly called Melbourne home ever since. Shohre has developed a deep connection to Melbourne’s inner-west, valuing its cultural diversity, humility, and strong sense of community.
From a young age, Shohre has been driven by a strong sense of justice and fairness. As a child, she imagined herself as a protector of the vulnerable and a redistributor of wealth. That commitment to social justice carried into her adult life. In 2012, she founded a charity dedicated to supporting disadvantaged children with access to education. She led the organisation for six years, helping it grow into a sustainable and successful charity that continues to operate today. Shohre remains involved as a mentor and advisor to the team.
In 2016, Shohre became aware of the scale of injustice faced by animals and the environmental damage caused by human activity. This marked a turning point in her life. She adopted a vegan lifestyle overnight and began actively working in animal rights and environmental protection. Her involvement has included volunteering at animal sanctuaries, fundraising for animal protection organisations, participating in peaceful protests, organising beach clean-ups, and planting trees. She also regularly hosts vegan potluck gatherings at her home to introduce people to compassionate, sustainable food choices.
Shohre is particularly passionate about:
-
Animal rights, including ending animal exploitation and supporting stronger animal protection laws
Biodiversity and climate action, with a focus on protecting local ecosystems
-
Food security and sustainable agriculture, especially community-led solutions
She is an active member of the Braybrook Common Community Garden and a founding member of the newly established Friends of Braybrook Park group.
Shohre believes meaningful change happens through both strong legislation and genuine personal connection with the community, and she is standing as a candidate to bring compassion, justice, and integrity into Parliament.
