AJP Social: Food for the Soul Pottery

Please join us, the Animal Justice Party (AJP) Mornington Peninsula, for an afternoon of creativity, community, and clay in scenic Mt. Eliza. This unique event promises not only a chance to unleash your creativity but also to connect with fellow AJP members and supporters over clay and conversation.

What’s on offer:

Pottery Making: Craft three or four pottery pieces under the guidance of Manuela, our esteemed local artisan. Begin with a communal piece to get the feel of the clay, then let your imagination run wild as you create your own masterpieces using different techniques.

Light Refreshments (all vegan): Enjoy some delicious treats including croissants from Cutie Croissants and treats from Soulful Vegan Food. Tea, coffee, and cold drinks will also be available. BYO wine if you’re a bit more adventurous! *Please be sure to let us know if you require gluten-free options.

Exclusive Deal: This workshop typically costs $115.00 (including glazing and firing). Thanks to Manuela's generosity, we’re able to offer this experience at nearly half the cost (and add refreshments!). After the costs have been covered the remaining price of the tickets will be donated to the AJP to help us do what we’re in the business of doing – getting elected!

Designed for both novices and experienced potters, this workshop is limited to a cosy group, ensuring personalised attention and a peaceful atmosphere.

Who Can Attend? Open to both AJP members and the public, this event is a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, make new friends, or catch up with old friends.

Booking & Payment: Secure your spot through the official AJP event page. Spaces are limited, and early booking is encouraged to avoid disappointment.

What to Bring: Please bring a clean towel and make sure you wear comfortable clothing. You might get a bit messy but nothing a good wash won’t fix. Feel free to bring leaves, ethically sourced feathers (ie found, not collected!), cookie cutters or any other items to help create the patterns and shapes of your pieces. However, you can come empty-handed as Manuela has many of these items as well as a “V” stamp to give your work the vegan stamp of approval if you wish!

Please note: Your items won’t be available to take home on the day as they require firing. It will take about a month for them to be ready. Please arrange with Katrina and/or Manuela on the day for how pieces can be collected or delivered.

Also, unfortunately, this event wouldn’t be suitable for children but if you are interested in classes for children, please check out the studio’s links below.
