Demand the NEW Animal Care and Protection Bill

The Boroondara bulldog and horses in Mt Eliza are just two recent examples of how Victoria’s animal cruelty laws are broken. They are nearly 40 years old and do not give inspectors the powers they need to step in when animals are suffering.

The new Animal Care and Protection Bill has been drafted to fix this. It is ready to go but the Government has not introduced it to Parliament.

Animals across Victoria are being left to suffer while enforcement agencies are blocked and hamstrung by outdated legislation. The public is demanding action. The bill is ready. There are no more excuses.

We are calling on the Victorian Government to immediately introduce the Animal Care and Protection Bill. This legislation would replace the outdated Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act 1986 and finally give authorities the power to intervene quickly and prevent animal suffering.

Thousands of Victorians have already raised their voices. Now we need Parliament to listen.

📺 Listen to Georgie’s 3AW interview below and then email the Premier and Agriculture Minister calling on them to act today.
