Candace is a is a long-term local resident of Glenroy.

She has been vegan for over ten years, a choice grounded in deeply held values around animal protection, sustainability, and reducing harm. Her commitment to animals is lived daily. Candace shares her home with three rescues: dogs Trevor and Nathan, and cat, Keith-from-Accounts. She lives with her husband, Craig, a pet-portrait artist whose work celebrates the human–animal bond.

She is standing as a candidate because she believes that the Animal Justice Party can achieve better results for animals, as well as the environment in the region.
