Jessica McAuliffe is proud to be standing as a candidate for the Animal Justice Party in the upcoming Victorian State election.

Jess grew up in Korumburra, South Gippsland and began her legal career as a Legal Secretary in 2008.  For the past 18 years, Jess has worked closely with people facing some of the most difficult and uncertain moments in their lives.

Jess holds a Juris Doctor and is currently the Practice Manager at Oldham Family Law in Drouin, where she assists with the daily management of the firm and works alongside solicitors supporting clients through family law matters.

The work Jess undertakes has shaped her deeply.  It has taught Jess the importance of listening carefully, acting with integrity, and helping people find their way through challenging and often dark times.  It has also strengthened her belief that our laws and systems should protect the vulnerable, not make life harder for them.

Jess is standing for the Animal Justice Party because she believes compassion should be at the centre of decision-making. This means building a Victoria where animals are protected from cruelty and neglect, where native wildlife and habitat are valued, and where people are supported with dignity and fairness.

Without the Animal Justice Party, animals have no vote and no voice in Parliament, yet the decisions made by government affect every part of their lives — from companion animal protections, to wildlife rescue, to farming systems, land clearing and climate action. Jess believes that we have a responsibility to create laws that recognise animals as sentient beings and protect them accordingly.

Growing up and working in regional Victoria has given Jess a strong understanding of the importance of local services, local connection, and having representatives who genuinely listen. She is passionate about the issues affecting regional communities, including housing affordability, access to health and mental health services, public transport, education, and practical climate and environmental action.

If elected, Jess will work to strengthen animal protection laws, better support wildlife carers and rescue organisations, protect native habitats, and advocate for fairer, kinder policies for animals, people and communities across Victoria.

Jess is standing because she believes politics can be more compassionate, more honest and more courageous. Jess wants to help build a future where animals are protected, people are supported, and our environment is cared for — a kinder Victoria for all.
