Midsumma Carnival is an iconic, free, full-day outdoor event that launches Melbourne’s three-week Midsumma Festival. Held at Alexandra Gardens, it features a wide range of LGBTQIA+ performances across four stages, alongside more than 200 stalls, food zones, pop-up bars, giveaways, and community groups. The event attracts around 120,000 people each year.

AJP attends Midsumma Carnival to connect directly with the community, listen to the issues people care about, and build support for positive change. The values celebrated at Midsumma inclusion, compassion, and social justice strongly align with our commitment to protecting animals, people, and the planet. Outreach at events like this helps us have real conversations, grow our movement, and engage with supporters well beyond election periods.

• AJP branded shirts but with Rainbow accents - If you don't have then there will be some available at the stall for you to borrow or to buy for yourself. 

• We have flyers to hand out to people and a questionnaire to complete. 
• We have our petitions to have people sign 
• We will have FREE stickers to give away!
• We will have merchandise to sell and can take election donations.
