🌿 Join Animal Justice Party for a Clean Up Australia Day Event at Alexandra Avenue! 🌿

On Sunday, 2nd March 2025, the Animal Justice Party is rolling up its sleeves for Clean Up Australia Day – and we’d love for you to join us!

Why it matters:
Litter isn’t just an eyesore – it’s deadly for wildlife and companion animals. From plastic pollution to fishing lines, rubbish left behind can cause suffering, injuries, and fatalities. Together, we can take action and make a real difference.

Event Details

📍 Location: Alexandra Avenue (opposite the Botanical Gardens)
📅 Date: Sunday, 2nd March 2025
⏰ Time:

9:30 AM: Registration & sign-in (everyone must sign in for legal reasons)
10:00 AM - 12:00 PM: Clean-up activity
1:00 PM - 5:30 PM: Vegan BBQ & picnic with music and games

How to Get Involved

To help us plan the day, please:
✅ Register you're coming on the Clean Up Aust Day website: Event link
✅ Let us know whether you’re coming for the clean-up, the BBQ, or both! Sign up via this Google form.

💚 Vegan BBQ Celebration
After a successful clean-up, our incredible volunteers Neena, Jot, Faith, and GK are hosting a vegan BBQ and picnic to celebrate our efforts! Bring along some vegan food to share and enjoy an afternoon of great company, music, and games.

What to Bring

To ensure a fun and successful event, please bring:
✅ Gardening gloves (and extras if you have them)
✅ Hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses
✅ Water bottle
✅ Sturdy enclosed footwear
✅ Umbrella (just in case!)
✅ AJP shirt, hat, or merch (if you have any)
✅ Your own plate, cup & cutlery to reduce waste
✅ Vegan food for the BBQ/picnic*

*Please bring (vegan) food for the picnic and (vegan) sausages for the BBQ (pop them in our esky when you arrive). All food/drink must be store bought and unopened, with the word ‘vegan’ on the packaging."
