Have Your Say: New Public Survey on Wildlife Road Deaths

The Victorian Parliament’s Inquiry into wildlife roadstrike is now open for public submissions — and they’ve just launched an official online survey to hear directly from people like you.

Whether you’ve witnessed roadkill, stopped to help an injured animal, or are simply heartbroken by the number of native animals killed on our roads each year — this is your moment to speak up.

🦘 Every 2 minutes, a native animal is struck on Victorian roads.
🚘 Most incidents go unreported.
📣 This is our chance to make sure they’re counted — and acted on.

📝 What’s the survey asking?

The short survey takes just a few minutes and asks questions like:

  • How concerned are you about wildlife roadstrike?
  • Have you ever witnessed or been involved in an incident?
  • Do you know what to do if you hit an animal?
  • Have you contacted a wildlife rescuer after an incident?
  • What would you like the Committee to know about this issue?

There’s space to share your thoughts, experiences, or suggestions. Even one story can make a difference.

Why It Matters

The data collected through this survey will inform the Committee’s final report — which means your answers will help shape real-world reforms. Whether it’s better road design, public education, stronger planning laws, or support for wildlife rescuers — change starts with being heard.

Already made a written submission? You can still complete the survey. Haven’t spoken up yet? This is the easiest way to start.

Be a voice for wildlife — take the survey and share it with your community.

Let’s make sure no more animals die unnoticed on our roads.
