It's Time : Time to Protest Live Export to Local Labor MPs

We're taking live animal export protests directly to members of the current Government!

Animal protection advocates are invited to join Animal Justice Party members to protest the barbaric export of live animals from Australian shores. Our peaceful protests will be conducted outside the offices of Victorian Labor MPs over the next month.

Protest Live Export - Josh Burns MP (Macnamara)

  • Time: 1pm - 2pm, Date: Thur, 11th April

Great turnout for a weekday protest. Thank you to the members from Port Phillip and Bayside LGAs for organising this protest event in St Kilda yesterday, and for the members and supporters who travelled from all over Melbourne to support and call out to Josh Burns MP to End Live Export. Josh did come out to address us, take questions and was handed dozens of letters from voters calling for his help to end Live Export. We already knew that Josh supports an end to Live Export and he let us know that he has made his own calls for a date to be set to the decision makers in his party - and was frank, expressing frustration that it hadn't yet. He heard directly from passionate voters in his electorate who appreciated Labor's election commitment to a Live Export phase-out but have been disappointed by their actions to date. Will Josh be a one-term wonder for Macnamara or will he return to Canberra with renewed vigour to press his Cabinet to legislate a date? Only time will tell but we'll keep the pressure on him. Well done and thank you to all who attended and spoke to Josh directly about the issue.

Protest Live Export - Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah MP (Higgins)

  • Time: 1pm - 2pm, Date: Wed, 17th April
ANOTHER great turnout for a weekday protest. Thank you to the members from Glen Eira and Stonnington LGAs for organising this protest event in Malvern today, and for the AJP members and supporters who travelled from all over Melbourne to support and call out to Dr Michelle Ananda-Rajah, Labor MP for Higgins, to End Live Export. Despite being in the office, Michelle didn't come out to address us and was spotted headed out in her car - apparently to a meeting. Her team accepted signed letters from the protesters. We hope she takes time to read them and listen intently to the message: "When will the Albanese government confirm and legislate an end date for the live sheep trade by sea and fulfil its 2022 election promise?" Well done and thank you to all who attended. We know they heard us. We'll be doing it all again in Mordialloc on Wed 1st May. Hope you can make it!
